What makes Seeductive Foods cheese alternatives different?
Our cheese isn’t an imitation, it’s an alternative and it stands in a category all its own. We start out with USA grown hemp seeds, not nuts, to create a creamy, almost nutty base. From there our patent-pending process incorporates traditional cheesemaking techniques to recreate those irresistible cheesy flavors without the use of nutritional yeast, oils, gums, starches, or flavors found so often in other plant-based cheeses. We strive to keep our ingredient list short and rely on fermentation, an ancient practice, to impart both flavor and important health benefits (gut healthy probiotics!) to our cheese. Our process is slow, but we know the best things in life usually take the most time!
Are your products organic?
While we source as many organic ingredients as possible, we are not currently using 100% organic ingredients. By law, no pesticides are allow in farming or anywhere along the supply chain for USA grown hemp. We carefully source high-quality ingredients from non-GMO and fair trade suppliers and will continue to work towards creating relationships with vendors that align with our values.
Are your products allergen-friendly?
Yes! Our products are top-8 allergen-free (meaning no nuts, soy, dairy, or gluten). We suggest reading the ingredient information for each product to make sure it is suitable for your dietary needs. For specific allergen questions, please contact email@example.com for help.
Are your products vegan?
Yes! Seeductive Foods was founded out of a desire to better animal welfare, so keeping our products cruelty-free was number one on our priority list. All our products have been certified vegan by the Vegan Awareness Foundation. To receive this certification our processes, suppliers, and ingredients went through a rigorous vetting process to confirm to no animal products or animal testing occurs throughout the supply chain.
Where are the hemp seeds grown?
We only use hemp seeds from plants grown in the United States. By sourcing our hemp seeds from US farmers, we are ensuring that the crops were grown with strict farming practices while supporting regenerative and sustainable farming to revive our nation’s soil.
What’s the difference between hemp and marijuana?
While hemp and marijuana plants come from the same species, industrial hemp is defined by Cannabis sativa plants containing less than 0.3% THC (the stuff that gets you high). Our seeds are lab tested to verify that THC levels are below this limit. This means our cheese won’t get you high.
How long will my cheese alternatives last?
After opening, we recommend consuming within 10-14 days for optimal freshness. To extend the life of your opened cheese, blot away any moisture and allow them to breathe in a reusable container (no plastic wrap please!).
Should I refrigerate my cheese alternatives? What about freezing?
Because we don’t use any preservatives, our products are perishable and must be stored in the refrigerator. To extend shelf-life, you can freeze our cheeses as they thaw beautifly. We do recommend consuming within 10-14 days of thawing.
How is my order shipped to me?
We typically ship orders Monday through Wednesday via UPS: ground, 2 Day Air, or 3 Day Select. Orders placed on Wednesday that cannot be guaranteed for Friday delivery will be shipped the following week to prevent any potential spoilage over the weekend. Read our Shipping Policy here.
Can you ship to my state?
We ship our cheese alternatives within the 48 contiguous United States.
The ice pack melted, is my product still safe to eat?
To help preserve quality and prevent temperature abuse in warm weather, we pack our cheeses in insulated envelopes with gel ice packs. Ice packs may thaw during shipping, but your cheeses are still safe to eat! Because our products are both plant-based and fermented, it’s not necessary to ship at refrigeration temperatures and ice packs are meant to keep shipments cool and fresh until they reach you.
What do I do with the shipping materials?
The gel ice packs are re-freezable and reusable (pack them in a cooler and take your cheese on the go!). To dispose of the ice packs, thaw the pouch and cut the corner to drain liquid into the trash; the remaining liner can be recycled. The insulated mailer can be recycled through the Trex Recycling program. For more info and drop off locations, click here.
